Verify if you have done it right. In terms of IP. Verify if you have unziped the mysql tar correctly. Try to change the port ou search if anything is using that port
Do a reboot first,
then this command: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server restart

Damn... I think, i unziped mysql tar correctly. I changed the port in my.cnf to 3301, but when i rebooted i have the same problem:

When i type
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server restart
i have the answer
mysql not running? (check var/db/mysql/grind.localhost.err)
Starting mysql.
But when i type /usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server status
i have this answer:
mysql is not running.

Damn... I think, i unziped mysql tar correctly. I changed the port in my.cnf to 3301, but when i rebooted i have the same problem:
