Human Factors on the Computer Interface
The computer interface is actually the only true link between the unrevealed organic world of humans and the complex electronic structure of computers. Although the hi-tech promises the semi-human, semi-computer machines in the future (the so called cyborgs), the organic structure of us is potentially far away from accepting the strict logic of a computer at least for now. In this piece of writing, I look forward to discuss the human factors on the so-called interface of computer.
Besides, the Micro future that awaits us, the interface on the computers are not capable of effecting our actions, we are free to stop using the interface whenever we want to; thatâs the first human factor that effects the interface. For an interface to be an effective medium it must provide something more than a set of pre-defined actions, however this is most likely impossible in the near future, because the so-called interface is a programmable medium but the organic structure does not.
Also, the usage of interface is tied to a set of controlling devices, however not all the humans are able to maintain the skills or physical availability to use the interface precisely, nor every computer. This is a two way business, so it cannot be told that the same potential human user get the same actions from two different computers running the same interface.
Until this point, we have discussed the both parties in one hand, however this these two dramatically differentiated worlds must be evaluated within their own borders too. As told before hand, human is an organic structure, who has a quite active emotional way of perceiving the world. We cannot expect from a human to be in the same mood every time the interface is used, which has a direct effect on the aim of using the interface.
Finally, the physical space of the computer and human may be said to be an other effective fact. Computer interface is tied to a healthy working conditions specified by the manufacturer, and also the environment of the user must also provide the healthy conditions to have a positive effect on human psychology, which will result with a healthy usage of the interface itself.
