Transfer pazarı
Step by step you've now established a solid foundation - but sooner or later you will decide to add to your strength by aquiring new players. Since your squad maximum is 25 players and you start with 19 players, you still have some room to add to your team via the transfer market. Click on Team → Transfers to get to the transfer market. The players you'll find on the transfer market all belonged to another club until they were sold. Since there are always tens of thousands of players on the market, you need to be very specific for a successful search (narrow down on country, position, strength).
Just click on the “arrows“ to rotate through all possible positions in “simple search“, and narrow your search on a specific strength level. Start with a strength between 1,0 and 1,5, which is within your current budget. Start the search and you'll get a result within your parameters, ordered by auctions end.
Next to the player details you find informatoin about the current highest bid, number of bids already made, remaining time on auction, and finally a button to place your bid on this player. The transfer market uses a classical auction system with a fix auction end, at which the highest bid on a given player is decisive. Any bid needs to be 2% higher than the current leading bid, but it's also possible to place a maximum bid, with your bidding agent to take care of holding the highest bid until the selected maximum is reached.
The amount of your maximum bid gets deducted from your bank account immediately and stays reserved for the possible transfer until someone places a higher bid, so you can only invest the money on your account once. Once your maximum bid is outbidden by another manager, the money gets transferred back to your account. When you're still holding the highest bid at auctions end, you successfully aquired the player he will be transferred to your squad within the next 10 minutes, and he'll be available to play immediately.
Before you now start bidding for players, get a good idea which players would help you and also keep some money (50.000) in reserve for the weekly costs. Get a feel on a player's market value by observing the bids of other managers before bidding yourself and maybe overpaying.

Try to add to your squad step by step up to the maximum of 25 players. The more players you have, the more players benefit from training.
Try to aquire younger players (< 23), since their training effect is better than that of players older than 25, and help your club in the long term.
Always check your bid again before submitting to avoid mistakes (adding too many zeroes for example)
The salary of a player is linked to his market value, so the more market value a player has, the more expensive will be his salary.
