Mr Carter is cooking dinner

* Listen and then read.
It is Wednesday evening and the Carter family are at home. The house is quite big. It has got theree bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs are the kitchen, the living room and the dining room. John Carter and Anne Carter are back from work and the children are back from school. Mr Carter is in the kitchen. He is cooking dinner and Jenny is watching him. Kitty, the cat, is sitting with Jenny. She is waiting for her dinner, too! Paul and Mark are not helping. They are in their room. Mrs Carter is having a rest because she is very tired today. Eddie, the dog, is slpeeping. He is dreaming about dinner, too.

JENNY: What are you cooking, Dad?
MR CARTER: Chicken, dear. It's in the oven now.
JENNY: Is it ready? I'm hungry.
MR CARTER: Not yet. What are you brothers doing?
JENNY: Well, Pauıl is doing his homework and Mark is writing a letter to his penfriend.
MR CARTER: And what are you doingg?
JENNY: Me? I'm not doing anything. I'm just waiting for dinner. Dad, what's that smell?
MR CARTER: Oh, no! The chicken is burning!
JENNY: Well, we can have pizza, Dad. There is a new pizza place near here.
MARK: What's for dinner, Dad?
MR CARTER: Er..... pizza.
PAUL: Ugh! Not pizza again!
