Democratic Society Party (DTP)
Chair: Ahmet Türk - Born in Mardin in 1942. He joined the Republican People`s Party
(CHP) in 1974, and then was elected parliamentarian. Türk was a founding member of the People`s Labor Party (HEP). After the founding of the Democratic Society Party (DTP), he became co-chair of the party and then in June 2006 at the DTP congress, took the party helm alone. In the congress of 2007, he was re-elected chair. In the July 2007 general elections, he won a seat in Parliament as an independent deputy.
