Prof. Dr. Ahmet BURAN
He was born in Elazığ. After completing his primary and secondary school education in Elazığ, he graduated from Fırat University, Faculty of Science and Literature in 1984. He started to follow the MA program of the same faculty, the Department of Turkish Language, at the very same year while also giving Turkish courses as a lecturer in the Department of Turkish Language. He was assigned to be a research assistant to the Department of Turkish Language and Literature dated November 15, 1985. He completed his PhD in 1989 . He has written 12 books, many papers and attended many national and international seminars, congresses and conferences. He is a specialist on dialectology, Ancient Anatolian Turkish and Contemporary Turkish Dialects. He is married with two children.
