You are absolutely right. If the web client runs on a virtual/sandbox server and does not affect the main server, its main value is not direct gameplay progression, but accessibility, promotion, testing, and presentation.
The idea is to let players experience the project before installing the real client or joining the main server. They can explore the 3D world, check characters, NPCs, bosses, Metin stones, item drops, inventory UI, and the general atmosphere directly from the browser.
