In my opinion, tourism should not be encouraged by countries. It takes a lot of things as it adds. These losses can not be measured with money.
First of all, I should mention that money can not be an answer for all our questions. It is certain that, tourism makes countries to earn much money. On the other hand, the damages of nature is ignored by countries. Tourism is caused too many visitors and when the tourists come, they need places where to stay. The fact of it is hotels and hostels. In order to make places, buildings for visitors, most of the forests are destroyed. So in some years, there will be nothing to see and visit. Therefore, tourist place is getting unpopular. The fact that the country probably will not bring back its ex-nature with the money in their hands. There is a proverb of an Indian. It says: âWhen all rivers will be dried and all trees will be cut, man will understood that money can not be eatenâ.
Secondly, the tourist place that is our subject has some special properties. The properties that are individual for itself. By too many people and buildings, the local way of life and the originally of the place will be the second thing which is destroyed after nature. The virginity of the place will be lost forever. For example, Bodrum is a good example for this exploitation of tourism. Bodrum had a fascinating nature but since the tourists had discovered it and the government did not protect, Bodrum is not Bodrum anymore. The great and huge hotels are the only properties of Bodrum now.
Finally, there is one thing that I can not denied. Many people claim that tourism is an important source of income and tourism allow people to experience other cultures. This is true. Every country has something special and individual than the others. It is their duty to share it with other people and use it as an income. But they have one more duty that they can not denied. It is to protect their beauties as they are sharing with others. Because nature is serving itself without any protection, such a generosity does not deserve a betrayal.
